ENVIDAN CONTINUES GROWTH IN ADVISORY SERVICES TO WATER UTILITIES IN NORWAY
In 2021, EnviDan has given leakage reduction plans to 7 municipalities and inter-municipal companies around Oslo. Most plans are developed to find both a financially viable leakage level and a more demanding sustainable leakage level that includes several sustainability parameters. Sustainable leakage levels are relatively new in Norway, and EnviDan is a leader in the field.
For Nittedal Municipality, a prioritised action plan was prepared and immediately implemented by the municipality. The work included entering all pipeline data into EnviDan's KeyZones leak monitoring tool, where the combination of SCADA data and subscription consumption provided a quick overview of which actions to prioritise in different zones.
The Nittedal water pipeline rehabilitation plan was developed as a continuation of the leakage reduction plan. In addition to the data collected from the master plan, EnviDan has, among other things, digitised the municipality's fracture statistics, created map zones with lines in soil degradation areas and added this to the data package used to implement mitigation plans with multi-criteria analysis. In 2022, the scenarios from the restructuring plan will be presented to politicians, who will now have a clearer basis for decision-making.
NRV, the inter-municipal company that supplies the municipalities with drinking water, sees benefits in using the information on Nittedal, which is easily accessible via KeyZones. Therefore, EnviDan will now also assist with the calibration of NRV's hydraulic model, and it is clear that EnviDan's expertise in water supply is being noticed.
