Joining forces with Nordic water and wastewater specialist Envidan adds Ramboll’s 500 experts to the global water business. The acquisition strengthens the business in Denmark, Norway and Sweden and adds world-class expertise in water and wastewater management.
Ramboll acquires Envidan from European private equity fund Waterland and a group of minority shareholders. With the acquisition, Ramboll’s international technical consultancy business – including Ramboll’s water business covering climate adaptation, water infrastructure, water resource management and water and wastewater treatment – grows to more than 18,000 experts globally.
Envidan has offices in Denmark, Norway and Sweden and provides highly recognized consulting services and sustainable solutions covering the entire water cycle. With Envidan’s three core business areas – consulting, turnkey solutions and software – the company will provide Ramboll with additional competencies as a technology-driven engineering consultancy. Together with its clients, the company focuses on creating sustainable environmental impact through projects within climate adaptation, water treatment, water distribution and wastewater management.
“This is an important acquisition for Ramboll that will truly transform our global water business and significantly strengthen our capabilities in the Nordics. Globally, water has become a critical resource that we must protect and manage with care. Together, we will be able to offer a full range of services that address needs in climate adaptation, water infrastructure and new regulations, ” says Jens-Peter Saul, CEO of Ramboll and adds:
“We look forward to welcoming Envidan to Ramboll. Together we will create a successful team based on a strong cultural fit driven by our common focus on sustainability through integrated water and wastewater solutions, ” says Jens-Peter Saul, Group CEO at Ramboll.
“Joining Ramboll will bring together two complementary organizations with strong values and a deep commitment to sustainability. Envidan has achieved a strong position in the overall water field, and like Ramboll, we focus on high professionalism and sustainability for the benefit of our customers and society as a whole, ” says Ole Adeler, CEO of Envidan A/S.
“After five years of ownership and a highly constructive collaboration with Envidan’s management, we are proud to see the company enter its next phase of development. Together, we have transformed Envidan from a predominantly Danish company to a leading Nordic water company through a focused buy-and-build strategy. It is a journey we are proud to have been part of. We now look forward to following Envidan’s continued growth under Ramboll’s ownership, ” says Nicklas Guldberg, Principal at Waterland Nordics.
The deal is subject to regulatory approvals.
