VA INGENJÖRERNA will be part of the Danish environmental company EnviDan

As part of the ambitious growth strategy launched by EnviDan, with the European private equity fund Waterland as a major shareholder, EnviDan has acquired Swedish VA INGENJÖRERNA.

CEO of EnviDan Morten Fjerbæk says: “We are proud to have VA INGENJÖRERNA as part of EnviDan. The company has very strong competencies within our main subject areas and will with their expertise in turnkey water and wastewater treatment plants complement our existing operations very well - both in Sweden but also in relation to our Danish company.

VA INGENJÖRERNA has approximately 47 employees, spread over 5 offices in Sweden, and has since 1991 provided both water and wastewater process solutions to Swedish municipalities and industries. VA INGENJÖRERNA thus has a good reputation and a strong customer base throughout Sweden and, in addition turnkey contracts, has strong expertise in IT and automation as well as service and aftermarket.

Focus on customers and projects

The change of ownership does not affect the high quality and service that the customers are used to from VA INGENJÖRERNA. General Manager Anders Ekström will be the managing director of the new company, which he will help develop together with all the employees who are still part of the company. It will therefore be "business as usual" for the customers, and it is absolutely necessary for VA INGENJÖRERNA that the customer experience remains the same. Anders Ekström says: “We have a strong position in the Swedish market, where we are known for our high quality and technical expertise in projects and assignments. This will also be the case in the future. We look forward to becoming part of EnviDan, who in the sales process has shown great knowledge of our area of expertise and who wants to build on the strong position that we have in this sector.”

The first step on an exciting journey

In December 2020, EnviDan itself changed owners when the European venture capital fund Waterland took over the majority of the shares in the company. Together, the two have set up an ambitious growth strategy, which will further develop EnviDan, with an ambition to create a European environmental company that delivers solutions throughout the water cycle. It is thus a matter of growing in depth, not in width. Morten Fjerbæk elaborates: “We want to create the best professional environment within the water sector, where there is room and knowledge to develop the solutions required by the water sector, both locally and globally. At EnviDan, we have a long tradition for investing in innovation, and we believe that by focusing on what we do best, we can become an even stronger sparring partner to our customers, while giving our employees the best opportunities for growth and development. We are happy that VA INGENJÖRERNA will now be part of this journey”.

VA INGENJÖRERNA are specialists in high-tech water and sewage systems for municipalities and industries in Sweden. The company offers both process and consulting services and can also handle large projects from the design to the operational facility. VA INGENJÖRERNA has 47 employees in five offices in Stockholm, Lund, Örebro, Linköping and Karlstad. In 2020, the company had a revenue of SEK 300 million
