Bangsgaard & Paludan becomes part of Envidan

After massive investments in the company’s software portfolio and the acquisition of VA Consult in Norway, the environmental company Envidan has made another investment that strengthens the company’s services within Nature & Water Environment. The investment consists of the acquisition of Bangsgaard & Paludan, a major player in the market for the preparation of technical and property-related feasibility studies, as well as detailed design, tendering and supervision in connection with the establishment of wetlands, watercourse restoration and nature restoration.

Today, Envidan has strong competencies within nature and the aquatic environment, but with the acquisition of Bangsgaard & Paludan, the area of expertise is significantly strengthened and Envidan becomes more widely represented geographically in Denmark. Divisional Director in Envidan’s Danish division, Ole Munk Nielsen, is very excited:

We have long wanted to strengthen our position within nature and water environment services, and I am delighted that we are now succeeding. Bangsgaard & Paludan is a well-run, well-liked and highly competent company, which will definitely give us good opportunities to offer our customers even better and broader solutions in the future.

At Bangsgaard and Paludan, there have been many considerations. Lars Bangsgaard explains:

“Our company has been around since 2010, and with skilled employees and hard work, we have succeeded in creating a healthy business and good customer relations. Therefore, it took some careful consideration before we decided to become part of Envidan. But what ultimately made the difference was the culture and spirit of Envidan. We believe that our values fit well with Envidan’s, and we can see our employees thrive and develop in the setup that Envidan presented to us.” Claus Paludan adds:

The most important thing for us has been to become part of a company that we can see ourselves in, and at Envidan we can

The acquisition includes a new Envidan office in Odense, and combined with Envidan’s new office in Kolding, it means that the company is now closer to its customers in Southern Denmark.

“We have excellent relationships with our customers in Southern Denmark, where we are helping Sønderborg Forsyning with environmental impact assessments in connection with a new central structure for wastewater treatment. We are also working on major projects on Funen, such as the new pumping station at Svendborg Harbour, so it makes perfect sense for us to prioritize a local presence further south in Jutland than Silkeborg. At the same time, we give our employees even more flexibility in choosing where they want to work,” says Ole Munk Nielsen.

Bangsgaard & Paludan will officially become part of Envidan on June 1, 2023, and is thus the latest addition to the Envidan family, which has grown significantly since the Dutch private equity fund Waterland took over the majority stake in 2020. In the current financial year (starting July 1, 2022), Envidan has grown organically with just under 100 new employees and approximately 50 employees through acquisitions.
